Casey Tibbs Rodeo Center
The center-museum is located in Fort Pierre, South Dakota. Not to be confused with Pierre, South Dakota, the state's capital, Fort Pierre is part of the Pierre, SD Micropolitan Statistical Area and the county seat of Stanley County. One of South Dakota's newest museums, The Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center, is located at 210 Verendrye Drive, Ft. Pierre, SD 57532. The location offers spectacular views of the Missouri River and the surrounding area.
Casey Duane Tibbs was born March 5, 1929, 50 miles northwest of Ft. Pierre, SD. Casey Tibbs started riding in South Dakota rodeos at age 14. By age 19, Tibbs had become the youngest man ever to win the national saddle bronc-riding crown. Between 1949 and 1955, he won a total of six PRCA saddle bronc-riding championships, plus two all-around cowboy championships and one bareback-riding championship.

Exhibits include: Ranch & Cowboy Life, Mattie’s Room, South Dakota Hall of Champions, Casey’s Room, Rodeo Royalty, Little Britches Rodeo, High School and Jr. High Rodeo, 4-H Rodeo, Stock Contractors & Rodeo Personnel, South Dakota Rodeo, College Rodeo, South Dakota Rodeo Association, Great Plains Indian Rodeo, and Contract Acts.
The Mattie Newcombe Conference Center is located on the top floor and offers some fantastic views as well as a great facility for your special event.
